Leagues and rules
Perthshire Highland Dancing League
Competition   For Premier and Open Dancers resident in Perthshire for 6 months or more at the time of each event
Venues All Perthshire Highland Games Association Member Games
Rules     
  • There will be one league covering all age groups.
  • This league will not affect Member’s established competitions which will run as normal.
  • Where there is a “Confined to Perthshire” already at the Member Games, the points from the “Confined to Perthshire” section only will count towards the League. Where there is no Confined to Perthshire section, then points will be awarded for prizes won in the Open competition as set out below.
  • Points for the first six Perthshire dancers over-all in each age group will be awarded as follows:

    1st – 88, 2nd – 56, 3rd – 38, 4th – 25, 5th – 16, 6th – 10

  • Member Games are requested to send a copy of the results of the Premier/Open dancing events to Jean Swanston

      Please record the competitors’ numbers, names & towns of Perthshire entrants.

  • Updates of the Dancing league will be posted on the PHGA website         
  • In order to qualify for the over-all League awards, competitors need to compete in a minimum of “5” Member Games. This is 1/3 of the present membership.
Prizes
  • A perpetual trophy will be presented to the winner of the League.
  • Keeper trophies and monetary awards will be presented to the first six dancers.
These prizes will be presented to League winners at Pitlochry Highland Games.
