Just four Games to go!
(August 24, 2010)The Highland Safaris Perthshire Heavyweight League is gearing up for an exciting finish with one point separating 1st and 2nd. Stuart Anderson, Killin, reduced the gap on Pete Hart from 10 points to 1 point over the past weekend.
Lorne Colthart, Blair Atholl won most points at Rannoch and threw an impressive 49’ 1” in the Shot Putt setting a new Perthshire League record. However he opted to go to Grantown-on-Spey on Sunday to consolidate his position as leader of Grampian Games under 25 league. Meantime at Crieff Stuart Anderson added the title of Perthshire Heavyweight Champion to his British Caber title won earlier in the season, when winning all four events.
With a clash of Games on Saturday at Birnam and Strathardle, Pete Hart the current leader and Stuart will go head to head at Strathardle while Perth’s AJ Maclean and John Neill will be the main challengers to the Colthart family at Birnam.
Confined to Perthshire Dancing commences at 11am at Birnam. A new trophy in memory of Jean Donaldson will be presented to the Perthshire dancer with most points in the 13 and under 16 confined group. No confined dancing at Strathardle but points gained in the open will count for the league.
The Junior Piping League is also set to continue at both venues this Saturday.
