Perthshire Residency Clarification for Dancers
(May 17, 2011)While a dancer attends College/University, he/she is not required as a student to pay Council Tax and can therefore still be treated as living at his/her original home address for Perthshire qualification to Confined events. When the period of study is complete, and the dancer lives and works outwith Perthshire, even although the family home is still in Perthshire, then the understanding is that the dancer is “ordinarily resident” where he/she spends the working week. For the purpose of the Perthshire Dancing League and dancing events Confined to Perthshire, dancers require to be ordinarily resident in Perthshire for 6 months or more at the time of the event.
